Together with Alecta, Koncept won Sundbyberg Municipality’s competition to acquire and develop the area around Signalfabriken, in the heart of Sundbyberg. The previously closed city block, which consisted mainly of light industry and offices, provided room for 19 000 square meters of redevelopment and another 19 000 square meters of new construction. Through a new masterplan, a new concept and an extensive programming of the site, Koncept re-activated the area and gave it new life. Today, in the Signalfabriken quarter, you can find everything from restaurants, libraries and retail, to housing, offices and gyms. Here, we have also designed a hotel, Story Hotel, from drawing to finished product, with inspiration from the industrial roots of the site.
